Angie is a professional organizer, the owner of Shipshape Solutions, speaker, and the author of Unholy Mess: What the Bible Says about Clutter (to be published in the fall of 2020).
Angie grew up in Kingsport, Tennessee. After receiving a B.S. in Biology and playing volleyball at Tennessee Technological University, she married Eric Hyche, another Kingsport native. They lived in Atlanta, Georgia for 11 years, where Angie received an M.S. from Emory University and worked as a pediatric Physician Assistant. After the birth of their daughters Emma and Lydia and a move back to their hometown, Angie was fortunate to be able to care for them, manage the household, and volunteer in their schools for many years.
Angie returned to work in 2011 as an Instructional Assistant in a local elementary school for 3 years. Although she loved her job, she couldn’t stop thinking about how much she loved to organize things and wishing she could do that on a full time basis. Angie had organized for many people over the years on a volunteer basis, and had done some research into the field of professional organizing.
As new empty nesters, the time was finally right in 2016 to launch the business. Angie joined the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals (NAPO), took online classes, did some job shadowing with an experienced organizer, got some business coaching, and started working with clients. She is thrilled to finally be doing what she loves most – helping people bring order to chaos. When she’s not organizing, Angie loves to ride on bike trails with her husband Eric and to act in community theatre productions.
Laurie Harvey is uncommonly passionate about creating order in the world surrounding her. For 13 years, she has been creating harmony in her client’s homes and offices. Whether it’s the closet or kitchen or the cabinets or files, Laurie will create a personalized organized system for the areas that matter most to you.
Laurie fondly remembers the day when she was talking to her husband about what she wanted to do after a long career as an occupational therapist.: “Put me in a closet to organize with a radio and a Dr. Pepper, and I am in heaven!” That is when her organizing business, Organizing Worx, was born!
A new career for her husband brought the family to the beautiful Smoky Mountains where they settled in Johnson City, TN. Laurie continued her organizing business after the move. In early 2018, Laurie contacted Angie to discuss their mutual organizing businesses, and together they made the decision to join forces. She joined Shipshape Solutions in August of 2018.
Laurie is a happy wife and mother of two wonderful girls (and a mom to a lab named Rio and an English retriever named Derby). In addition to working as an occupational therapist, Laurie volunteers her time on various committees in the community. She looks forward to having an opportunity to serve you!
